Aquaman Film Premiere London Leicester Square

Aquaman Film Premiere

We have not been huge fans so far of most the DC Comics movie adaptation From Warner Bros. but being nerds (Yep! We admit it) We had to get one of the team to go view Aquaman when we got the invite. From director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa.

Now, ladies, Dede is a huge Jason Momoa fan from his appearances in Atlantis and Game of Thrones (and we can safely report back after the premiere that he smells wonderful??? (Now, we realise many guys won’t care about this detail but…we hear the ladies will…) but she has so far, proffered the Marvel Comics movies and is a huge Ironman fan and attended the premiere for Ironman 2 in Hollywood a few years ago but none the less, she agreed to attend. (It really didn’t take much arm twisting, thanks to Jason’s presence)

In her view, the movie is fantastic! Her only negative comment is that Amber Heard’s (who plays Mera) performance was not the best…however this did not detract from her enjoyment of the movie or the rest of the cast’s amazing performances. She also thought Amber’s outfit at the premiere was utterly riddiculous but moving on…

Aquaman finds himself caught between a surface world that ravages the sea and the underwater Atlanteans who are ready to revolt.

Some have described the movie as an underwater Starwars – only better.

Filmmaker, Video Jedi @IGN, Tweeted:

  • is the best DC movie since The Dark Knight. Delivers a swashbuckling epic full of big emotion, gorgeous undersea visuals, exciting action, and lots of laughs.WB should be handing the DCEU reins to James Wan, he’s proven he can, ahem, right the ship.
  • We have to agree!

Dede said: “When they announced the film was 2 hours and 15 minutes long, I thought OMG, it’s another Titanic, not sure I can sit still that long being a bit of a fidget but I needn’t have worried, I was enthralled for the duration and slightly sad when it came to an end as I was enjoying the movie so much. Aquaman definitely did it for me, action-packed,  (I can see why it was 5 years in the making) visually stunning and surprisingly, so well balanced that they managed to pack in a ton of humour too, in such a way that it did not detract from the story. I can’t imagine who wouldn’t enjoy seeing this movie. Hoping for a sequel very, very soon!

The cast actually came out for the audience before the movie started, Jason Momoa (Swoon) did not disappoint, his appearance was a lush mix of bad boy Aquaman and nice guy Jason. I am officially now a huge #Aquaman fan”.
